BICKNELL AND SHARP TAKE 358 MOD RACES AT HUMBERSTONE SPEEDWAY

A huge night of racing Sunday Night as the Stars of NASCAR Dave Blaney, Bobby Labonte and Michael Waltrip visited Humberstone Speedway Sunday Night. The 5 division mega show was presented by Cosco Haulage and Brian's Tire Repair in the 5 division program.

In the Stars Of NASCAR event for the Young Automotive Professional 358 Modifieds, The Professor Pete Bicknell schooled the field once again in the Stars Of NASCAR 30 lap feature to claim his 2nd Humberstone win of the season. Bicknell took the lead on lap 8 and said goodbye to the talented 358 field. Bicknell took the lead from the early leaders James Michael Friesen and Boyd MacTavish to show his dominance. Bicknell was followed by Friesen, Mike Bowman, Scott Wood, and Chad Chevalier. Dave Blaney started 5th and finished 7th. Bobby Labonte started 25th and finished 15th

In the companion 358 Modified event from 3 weeks ago, Justin Sharp picked up his 1st win ever in the 2nd feature after a great race trading the lead with Rob Pietz while the tussle for 3rd with Chad Brachmann, Mike Bowman and Pete Bicknell. But Sharp did a great job for the win to hold off Pietz, Brachmann, Bicknell and Bowman to round out the top 5.

In the Ransomville King Of The Hill Qualifier for the Brian's Tire Repair Street Stocks 20 lap event, Kevin Knapp took the victory in a hard fought win and the spot for the September race in Ransomville over Bill Bleich, Kevin Aube, Jason Fontaine, and Tyler Anderson.

The 25 lap carnage filled Cosco Haulage Sportsman event, Cody McPherson claimed the victory from early leader Mark Dixon who worked his tail to hold off McPherson off for the first 21 laps. McPherson would hold off Dixon for the win followed by Greg Panunte, Rick Bellante and Darrell Farraway.

In the 15 lap Ron's Automotive Mini Stock 15 lap feature, Aaron Wiley claimed the victory on a last lap pass from leader Kyle Pelrine who led from the opening lap until the 14th lap with 1 to go and would hold off Pelrine, Rob Goulding, Brandon Iudiciani and Evan Curtis. Wiley claimed his 3rd win of the season.

In the 15 lap Niagara Auto Sales Pro 4 Truck feature. Billy Beales claimed the victory on a last lap pass on the flying Frenchman Andy Imbeault who led from lap 2 after passing polesitter Hillary Haegens for the win. Beales was followed by Imbeault, Haegens, Rick Book and Kevin Conley. Beales gained his 2nd win of the season.

POST RACE AFTERTHOUGHTS: A great turnout of 28 358 Mods and 30 Sportsman complimented the program. Also the Mini Stocks and Pro 4 Trucks were decided on the final lap. Nick Cupolo and Wes Talons both rolled in separate incidents during their 25 lap Sportsman feature. Points leader Greg Panunte suffered damage but managed to return. Jeff Armstrong failed to qualify for his first feature since joining the Sportsman with steering problems. Up next on July 18th will be Sniper Alley and Full Service Media night which will be a full program consisting of the Sportsman, Mini Stocks, Pro 4 Trucks, Pure Stocks, Mod Lites and Vintage Racers.
