DAMP GROUNDS FORCE HUMBERSTONE SPEEDWAY TO CANCEL
Heavy rains Saturday Night and Sunday Morning mixing with very wet grounds forced Speedway Officials to pull the plug on Seaway Mall Night at Humberstone Speedway Sunday. Track PR Director Fran Bushardt relates, “The weather cleared up but would have created race teams to fight for some tough to find dry ground in the pit area.” The 5 division program with the Sportsman headlining with Joe Cosco Memorial Mini Stock Special will be rescheduled at a later date.
To date the Humberstone Speedway season has been very competitive with 24 features run with 21 different winners. In the Young Automotive Professional 358 Modifieds wins were recorded by Rookie Chad Chevalier, Todd Gordon and and James Michael Friesen while Chad Brachmann holds a 4 pt lead over Scott Wood. In the Cosco Haulage Sportsman, the winners so far are Cody McPherson, Brad Rouse, BJ Willard, Ryan Susice and Don Spatorico while Greg Panunte holds 14 pt lead over McPherson. In the Brian's Tire Repair Street Stocks, Bill Bleich Jr leads all Humberstone drivers with 3 wins while Rookie Kevin Aube and Jaren Israel have collected 1 each as Jason Fontaine leads Bleich by 3 points. In the Niagara Auto Sales Pro 4 Trucks, Points leader Andy Imbeault has 2 wins and a 2 point lead over Bill Beales with 1 win while the Brother and Sister team of Greg and Hilary Haegens wave 1 win each. The Ron's Automotive Mini Stocks, Aaron Wiley leads points with 1 win and a 16 point lead over 1 time winner Garnet Wilson while Rocco Conte and Brandon Iudiciani each have 1 win. And lastly, in the Frontier Auto Dismantler Pure Stocks, points leader Issac Pelissero has 1 win along with Dave Larocque as Pelissero has 6 point lead over Terry Ronning.
Up next on Sunday June 13th Tidyman Maintenance and Port Colborne Laundry will present a 4 division program headlined with the Young Automotive Professional 358 Modifieds who will be competing in a 50 lap Special while the Brian's Tire Repair Street Stocks, the Ron's Automotive Mini Stocks and the Niagara Auto Sales Pro 4 Trucks will be part of the program. The Cosco Haulage Sportsman will have the night off as there is a Tour event at Cornwall Speedway.
