CHAD CHEVALIER CLAIMS 358 MODIFIED BARN BURNER AT HUMBERSTONE SPEEDWAY

The sky opened up the sunshine of a cloudless evening with full moon conditions at Humberstone Speedway Sunday as the Young Automotive Professionals presented a 5 division night of racing as yellow flags flew prominently.

The headlining Young Automotive Professional 358 Modifieds 30 lap feature was led to the green by Kenny Winfield and Justin Sharp on the inside. Sharp was the leader on the restart with Mat Williamson 2nd. Lap 5 Williamson took the lead with early leader Sharp breaking. Chad Chevalier took the 2nd spot with a nice pass. Scott Wood and Rob Pietz would battle for 3rd. Williamson running the bottom and Chevalier continued their battle for several laps. Chad Brachmann took over the 4th spot on lap14. Scott Wood has also erased the lead from the top 2 with Wood using the bottom line. Lapped racer Rick Hoctor would play a major factor as he would share the same low line as Williamson allowing Chevalier to make the turn 4 pass for the win over Williamson by .057 seconds followed by Wood, Brachmann and Pietz.

In the 25 lap Cosco Haulage DIRT-CAR Sportsman Greg Rauscher was the first to lead with Dave Dykstra on the chase. Several early yellows have slowed the pace. Curt Friesen has made his way to the top 3 by lap 5. Greg Panunte made the bump move to take 4th spot. 10 laps and 5 yellows later, BJ Willard made a nice move to take the lead just as another yellow flew. Lap 14th Panunte would take 2nd with Darrell Farraway 3rd and Ryan Susice 4th. With Willard on the bottom and Panunte up to the topside, Willard would hold on for the win with Panunte 2nd followed by Darrell Farraway, Cody McPherson and Mark Dixon rounding out the top 5.8 yellows would slow the pace.

The always exciting Brian's Tire Repair Street Stock 20 lap event Brian Schmidt jumped into the lead with Mark Fawcett on the chase. Lap 4 Fawcett made a nice pass and Paul Wichert on the chase to the 5th spot. Wichert made a nice move for 2nd and would contend with Fawcett for the lead using the inside line Wichert would make the outside stick. But the hot shoe Bill Bleich would take the lead on lap 13 and open a healthy lead. An unfortunate yellow would slow Bleich's pace. With one to go the battle was for 2nd with Bleich holding off Jason Fontaine, Wichert, Kevin Knapp and Fawcett.

The Merrittville Speedway Mod Lites visited Humberstone Speedway for the first time in 2010 with the Mod Lite North Tour. With Chris Steele taking the lead in the 25 lap feature with Kory Howe doing a slow roll at the drop of the green. Kory was alright after being checked out. Paul Klager would take the lead on lap 2nd. Lap 7 Josh Sliter would take over the 2nd spot from Steele. Lap 11 Sliter would move to the top and make a nice move but Klager fought back for the lead. Lap 19 Sliter would make a nice bid from the outside with 6 to go. Klager would hang on tight for the win. Josh Sliter, Steele, Randy Hollingshead and Derek Moore would round out the top 5.

In the 15 lap Niagara Auto Sales Pro 4 Truck feature Adam Williams led the field to the green but was passed by nKameron Kocarik and was passed on lap 2 by Steve Vanderzanden. Rick Book is the new leader on lap 3 with Billy Beales giving chase. Lap 6 Beales made a nice inside pass for the lead. Beales would coast to his first ever win in the Pro 4 Trucks, he would be followed by Rick Book, Andy Imbeault, Hilary Haegens and Greg Haegens 1 caution would slow the field.
