JAMES MICHAEL FRIESEN CLAIMS 3RD LUCAS OIL RACE AT THE NEW HUMBERSTONE SPEEDWAY ON PETERS EXCAVATING NIGHT

If the New Humberstone Speedway's Lucas Oil Shootout race is any indication of the future, than the two remaining races should be barn burners. Only three cautions stopped the racing action thru out the entire 50 lap race. The 1P of Darren Peters (Sunday sponsor for the night, Peters Excavating) rocketed to the first place position early on in the race. The first caution was brought out on lap 4 by Justin Sharpe who had to be towed into the pits, cause unknown. At the restart it seen hard chargers 1P and the P38 of Rob Pratt up front and the P38 takes over the lead sending the 1P to second. The 77 of B.J Willard and the 11Z of Darren Zumpe fighting it out in 3rd. After the second caution the 1P slide up a little too high pushing the P38 up over the banking and forcing the P38 to lose a considerable amount of spots. With the 1P out in front and the 52 of Friesen working his way thru the field, it was proving to be anyone's race. With 11 laps to go and Peters getting tied up with some lap traffic which allowed Friesen to take the lead and capture the checkered flag. After the post tech inspection the 1P of Darren Peters was disqualified for a technical infraction.  Top 5 were James Michael Friesen, Greg Panunte, Mark D'Ilario, Tyler McPherson, and B.J Willard. (Heat Winner was Ryan Susice, Rob Pratt, Justin Sharp and Greg Panunte)

It was redemption on the mind of Don Lessard as he captured his 3rd win of the 2008 season in the Niagara Auto Sales Pro 4 Truck division. Lessard, who 2 weeks ago was black, flagged for rough driving, raced past the 29 of Doug Banner on lap 3 and sent Banner back to fight with another current feature winner the 32A of Andy Imbeault. The 64 raced out front in a race with only himself, as the second place battle between the 29 and 32A was just heating up in this 15 lap event. Hilary Haegens having another good race in 4th,
until couple of laps until the checkered she had to be towed pit side for apparent engine issues. Top 5 were Don Lessard, Andy Imbeault, Rick Book, Ed McNamara, and Jim Tufford. Heat Winners were Rick Book and Doug Banner

If you bought a program this week at The New Humberstone Speedway, you were already familiar with the 10 of Jaren Israel, who was the featured driver in this week's program. Israel jumped at an early lead beating the 1J for the #1 spot. The 88 of Shayne Pierce having a good run with a 2nd spot finish. Top 5 were Jaren Israel, Shayne Pierce, Barry Blanchard, Brad Sheehan, Bill Bleich Jr. (Heat Winners were Jason
Fontaine and Al Sleight)

In the Weekend Motorsports Pure Stock event, it was Sam  Iftody picking his second win of the 2008 season. Iftody who grabbed the lead from Mike Greene, as Green lost control in turn 2 and went over banking on track. Top 5 were Sam Iftody, Rob Goulden, Mike Greene, Jon Vineski and Chris Crawford. Heat Winner was Chris Crawford
